Blair Biomass is an establishment wood fuel supplier providing wood fuel across Dumfries and Galloway, Ayrshire, Borders and Cumbria.
At Blair Biomass we feel it is important to use local timber when ever possible. Our timber and pellets come from sustainable sources in South West Scotland. This brings job creation and economic benefits to our part of Scotland, plus the fuel miles and Carbon Footprint are as small as they possibly can be. All our fuels are approved by the Biomass Suppliers List allowing you to claim your Renewable Heat Incentive.

...is a family run, local business based outside Stranraer in Dumfries and Galloway supplying high quality wood fuel for the biomass industry.

The UK is already heavily dependent on importing energy from counties such as Norway, Qatar and Russia. As a result of the G7 Summit, the government has now started to focus on the development of the renewable energy industry by offering the Renewable Heat Incentive, quarterly payments for generating heat from renewable sources for the next 20 years.

By changing from fossil to wood fuel, the constant fluctuations in price of oil and gas can be avoided and the opportunity to lower your carbon footprint becomes a reality.

Wood Chip

At Blair Biomass we use locally sourced virgin round wood which has been harvested from the lowland hills of Galloway. This insures great quality chip, security of supply and a low carbon footprint.

We use the latest chipping technology from Germany allowing us to produce a chip that has a high calorific value with a low fines content. We mechanically dry our chip on specially designed drying floors so that the product you receive is of the highest possible quality.

We can supply a G30 or G50 chip which has a specific moisture content that matches your boilers requirements. Our chip is registered on the Biomass Suppliers List (BSL) insuring that you can claim you RHI.

Wood Pellets

Bulk blown pellets

Blair Biomass can supply bulk blown wood pellets to your home or business. The pellets are registered on the Biomass Suppliers List (BSL) and are certified as ENplus A1 at the point of collection from our suppling partner.

We supply bulk blown wood pellets direct to commercial, domestic, public sector and agricultural premises. Delivery sizes start from 3 Tonnes up to 27 Tonnes. We have a range of blown-pellet delivery vehicles available ranging from 19 tonne, eight-wheel rigid vehicles and 27 tonne capacity articulated lorries.

Bagged Pellets for domestic market

We supply 1 Tonne pallets of Woodlets Wood pellets in 10 or 15kg bags for our domestic market. These are produced in South West Scotland insuring low carbon footprint, security of supply and value for money.
